How to Look Thin When You Are NotWritten by d'Italia
Looking thin can represent a number of things, from a healthy goal to a vain ideal to an unhealthy obsession. If you are one of the many larger women out there today in Australia – and the world, at that – looking slimmer can be all you need to get that extra boost in confidence. And you don’t even have to do it by squeezing into impossibly small clothes; larger size clothing can provide all you need.
Don’t Squeeze! We reiterate this for a reason. Squeezing into uncomfortably tight clothing may seem logical, but in reality it can exaggerate problem areas. Opt for something that fits smarter, not tighter. Layering A smarter fit idea is layering larger on top of tighter tops. Try wearing a well-fitted tank top or t-shirt with a tastefully looser blouse over top that complements what’s underneath, helping conceal a larger upper-body. But Not Bigger Clothes Remember, that doesn’t mean to wear baggy, unflattering tops and pants. Wear clothes that are as form-fitted as they can be without causing bulging or contouring your entire body to a single shape. Flatter What You’ve Got If you’ve got size where you know it counts and where it doesn’t, wear clothes that contour around those areas. A dress that accentuates your bosom but spreads out over your hips, for instance, could draw the attention to the positive parts of your form while overshadowing the not-so-nice areas. And for some women the opposite approach could be true!
