Strapless Wedding Dresses - Beautiful.
d'Italia creates dream strapless bridal gowns, using the finest fabrics, to suit your personality and body shape.
When a bride has her heart set on a strapless wedding gown, it is really tricky to find the right gown in the ready-made bridal boutiques – because exactly the right neckline is often the hardest thing to find…! This is because most brides have their heart set on an exact shape – whether it be a definite sweetheart, or just a slight sweetheart, or whatever line. And - whatever the shape of the neckline - believe it or not it is what cannot be seen on the outside that actually really, really counts.
What we are referring to here is the corsetry inside the gown. If the corsetry inside a gown doesn’t fit the bride 100% perfectly, the gown WILL move. It will slip, slide and sag. It will drive the bride half crazy by the end of what is meant to be her perfect wedding day…!
This 100% perfect fit simply cannot be found with any bought ready-made gown. Even if the bridal shop makes a gown from scratch according to the style the bride has selected from their range, the structure around the bodice area of the gown will usually be made from a standard-sized pattern which is then adjusted to appear to fit the bride. This is not custom-made corsetry, which is what defines a true custom-made gown.
Finally, the fact is that when the corsetry is custom-built for a bride and made the true European way so that it is only semi-attached to the inside of the gown, the bride is guaranteed to have minimised any ugly “muffin”-type overhang around the front and back areas of her bodice. This is what is impossible to avoid with ready-made gowns and is a dead giveaway that the gown does not fit the bride properly. It is not a good look, and can ruin the bride’s confidence to no end.
So, in having your gown custom-made by one of d’Italia’s expert bridal couturiers, not only will you be able to dictate the exact neckline style of your gown, your gown will have custom-built corsetry inside it. This corsetry can be as heavy-duty or as light as you desire, depending on what you want the corsetry to do for you. As such, it could involve a good amount of boning and structure – or just minimal. Some brides want their busts enhanced or their waists synched in – no matter what you want the corsetry to do for you, all you need do is communicate it clearly to your couturier and it will be done.
Having the corsetry custom-built is not only important because of the difference it can make to the bride’s figure, but also because with a strapless gown in particular, it is the perfect fit of the corsetry which actually keeps the entire gown in place for the many hours that the bride will be wearing it. Made perfectly, corsetry will keep the gown from slipping and sliding…there is nothing worse than watching a beautiful bride tugging at a gown which persists in slipping down – its just awful!
In the process of custom-making a gown with one of d’Italia’s couturiers, there is no limit on the amount of fittings. This means that a gown can be created in an unlimited number of steps to allow for it to develop and attain the perfect fit in stages – this way, the exact shape of the neckline of the bodice, and the exact perfect fit of the corsetry inside can be adjusted until it is exactly what the bride had her heart set on, and exactly the right fit to flatter her figure the most.
